The fire erupted when the teenager attempted to relight a barbecue using a flammable liquid. This action caused a sudden flash fire, resulting in significant burns.
The teen suffered second-degree burns covering nearly 50% of their body. Emergency crews provided immediate treatment, and a medical helicopter transported the individual to a specialized burn center.
Additionally, two adults present at the gathering also sustained burns, although the severity of their injuries was not immediately detailed by officials.
