Minor Tremor Hits Zambales After Magnitude 5.0 Quake

On October 11, 2025, a minor 2.7 magnitude earthquake jolted Zambales province just hours after a stronger 5.0 magnitude quake struck the same region. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the latest tremor occurred at 6:15 pm, with its epicenter located 25 kilometers east of Botolan town at a depth of 99 kilometers.
Earlier that day, at 5:32 pm, a magnitude 5.0 earthquake had hit the area, with its epicenter 19 kilometers northeast of Cabangan town and a depth of 100 kilometers. While the quake was felt in nearby Olongapo City, Champ Del Rosario, the head of Cabangan's disaster risk reduction management office, reported no damage in their town.
In the wake of the seismic activity, several local government units have reminded their constituents to stay vigilant and prepared for any potential aftershocks or further tremors.
