Authorities suspect the youths drove away in a highly agitated state and subsequently struck the student, Priyanka, with their vehicle. Reports indicate the car passed over her head, causing severe and life-altering head injuries. She was initially rushed to a local hospital.
Due to the critical nature of her injuries, the medical student was referred for advanced neurological care. Her family is reportedly in the process of transferring her to Hyderabad for more specialized treatment. The incident has deeply disturbed fellow students and the broader medical fraternity.
Students are demanding swift and strict action against those responsible and a thorough investigation into the circumstances. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and have taken two individuals into custody, including the suspected driver, Suravarapu Yaswanth.
