Massive Meat Recall: 167,639 Pounds Unsafe for Consumption

Star Meat Delivery Inc. has initiated a recall of approximately 167,639 pounds of raw beef, pork, and goat. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued an alert Tuesday, stating the products were produced without federal inspection and display a false USDA mark. This Class I recall signifies a serious health hazard, with a reasonable probability of severe adverse health effects or death from consumption.

The recalled items, distributed nationwide under the A&D Foods label to restaurants and retail sites, were produced on various dates prior to Tuesday, September 23, 2026. They were packaged using vacuum-seal and placed in cardboard boxes. Products marked with "EST. 1363" are considered unsafe. Despite the potential risks, the FSIS has confirmed no injuries or illnesses linked to this recall as of Tuesday, September 23, 2026.

The FSIS discovered the issue during routine surveillance, noting that uninspected food can harbor harmful bacteria or undeclared allergens. As more information emerges, the list of affected products may grow. Consumers, retailers, and restaurants are urged not to consume or sell the recalled meats and to return them to their point of purchase or discard them.

This recall occurs amidst heightened concerns over foodborne illnesses and widespread recalls. However, experts like Keith Schneider emphasize that recalls often indicate a functioning food-safety system identifying and rectifying problems.
