Four people were injured in Marpally town, Vikarabad district, on Saturday when the roof of an eatery collapsed. The incident happened at HKN Tiffin Centre around 11 am, with a few customers present at the time.
Emergency services, alerted by locals, promptly arrived at the scene. With assistance from the community and an earthmover, debris was cleared, and the injured were rescued. The victims were taken to a local hospital and are reportedly out of danger.
The building, originally constructed by the SC Corporation and leased to the eatery operator, was found to be in a dilapidated condition. Authorities believe recent rainfall may have further weakened the structure, contributing to the collapse.
A case has been registered against the building owner and the eatery operator under relevant sections of the law for causing hurt by endangering life.
