A man tragically lost his life on Saturday evening following an electrocution incident on the Panaji-Margao highway near Vasco. The victim, identified as 36-year-old Ankit Lakra from Chhattisgarh, was a passenger in a rickshaw.

Around 10 pm, near the Birla Cross junction, a 11 kV high-tension wire reportedly snapped and fell onto the road. This was attributed to heavy rainfall and strong winds battering the region at the time.

Alerted by a crackling sound, Lakra exited the rickshaw in an attempt to escape. Tragically, he made contact with the live wire and died instantly.
