Malibu Mansion Crumbles: Sinkhole Swallows Cage's Driveway

An oceanfront mansion in Malibu, believed to be owned by actor Nicolas Cage, suffered significant damage on Tuesday morning due to a massive sinkhole. The catastrophic event, triggered by intense coastal erosion, caused the collapse of the property's driveway.

Authorities responded to reports of a gas main break at the scene, discovering that the erosion had compromised utility lines, including a water and a gas line. The Southern California Gas Company subsequently shut off the gas supply to the area.

The City of Malibu's Building Safety Division and the gas company are actively assessing the situation. As a precautionary measure, five homes were red-tagged, prohibiting entry, and an evacuation order was issued for residents of the affected properties to ensure their safety.
