The bus collided with an oil tanker, leading to a massive explosion that engulfed the vehicle. This catastrophic event resulted in the deaths of 45 pilgrims.

Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer was present on November 22 for the funeral prayers and burial of the victims at the Jannat ul Baqi cemetery in Madinah. The Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed the attendance of the Governor, Ambassador Suhel Khan, and Consul General Fahad Suri at the solemn ceremony, expressing deep condolences.

The pilgrims had departed from Hyderabad on November 9 for an Umrah tour. Authorities conveyed their condolences and assured full support to the affected families. The sole survivor, Md Abdul Shoaib, is the only one to have escaped the deadly inferno.
