M5 Chaos: 11-Vehicle Crash Injures Two

A serious multi-vehicle incident involving eleven cars occurred on the M5 motorway. The collision took place on the southbound carriageway between junction 28, near Cullompton, and junction 29, close to Exeter. Two people were injured as a result of the crash.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene. Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free one trapped individual, who was subsequently transported to a hospital via air ambulance. Police confirmed that ambulance and fire services were in attendance.
The southbound M5 was closed at junction 28 to facilitate the work of emergency services. National Highways also temporarily halted traffic on the northbound carriageway to allow the air ambulance to land safely. Diversion routes were put in place for affected motorists.
