A young biker's reliance on a navigation app resulted in a perilous fall into an open well on the outskirts of Lucknow. The 25-year-old rider was traveling late at night when the app directed him onto an unmarked and poorly lit route.
As he navigated a sharp bend, the rider lost control, and his motorcycle crashed into the well's boundary. He plunged about 15 feet into the water-filled well, which lacked any safety railings. Trapped in the darkness, he clung to a rock for nearly 50 minutes.
His cries for help were eventually heard by two constables on routine patrol. Using their mufflers and shawls, the officers created a makeshift rope and successfully rescued the injured biker after a challenging 30-minute effort.
