Chemical Blast Rocks Longview Plant, Fatalities Confirmed

A significant chemical implosion at the Nippon Dynawave Packaging Company in Longview, Washington, led to fatalities and numerous injuries early Tuesday morning. The incident, which occurred around 7:18 a.m., involved a vat of chemical treatment product at the facility located on Industrial Way.

Emergency responders from the Longview Fire Department and other agencies arrived to find a mass casualty scene. Several individuals suffered chemical burns and inhalation injuries, with all victims requiring transport to nearby hospitals. First responders implemented decontamination procedures prior to patient transport.
