Villagers Fend Off Leopard Attack in Himachal Pradesh

Villagers quickly responded, wielding sticks and agricultural instruments to try and chase the leopard away. The animal hid behind a bicycle and an iron ladder in a nearby house, but a forest department team soon arrived on the scene. Using a tranquilizer gun, the team was able to safely subdue the leopard and place it in a cage for transport to the forest department's wildlife treatment center.
The leopard's incursion into the village has sparked wider discussions about the growing issue of human-wildlife conflict in the region. As habitats shrink and wildlife is forced to venture into human-dominated landscapes, such encounters are becoming more frequent, leading to concerns over public safety and the need for stronger preventive measures.
