30 May
Summary
- Four miners trapped for over a week in a flooded cave have been rescued.
- Rescue efforts involved divers and pumping water to lower the flood levels.
- Two miners remain missing within the extensive cave system.

Rescue efforts in Laos have successfully freed four more gold miners who were trapped in a flooded cave for over a week. The operation, which has been underway for days, involved significant efforts to pump water out of the cave.
Divers were able to escort the four miners out of the cave system as water levels receded enough. Photos depicted the rescued individuals wearing oxygen masks and wrapped in foil blankets following their ordeal.
Previously, on Friday, the first miner was rescued in a high-risk dive. Rescuers described the situation as a "trust-me dive" due to the extreme underwater conditions. The group of seven miners had entered the cave ten days prior to the flooding.
Despite these successful rescues, two miners remain unaccounted for within the cave system. Rescue teams are continuing their search for the missing individuals.
