Beach Rescue: Two Unresponsive in Water
16 Aug
Summary
- A woman and a teenage girl were rescued unresponsive at Aliso Beach.
- First responders administered aid after finding them unconscious in the water.
- The incident occurred near a previous tragic drowning at the same beach.

On Saturday afternoon, emergency services responded to a critical situation at Aliso Beach in Laguna Beach. First responders were dispatched around 1:30 PM after reports of two individuals found unresponsive in the water near Aliso Creek and Pacific Coast Highway. Upon arrival, they discovered a 15-year-old girl and a 48-year-old woman submerged and unconscious.
Both individuals were swiftly rescued from the ocean and received immediate first aid on the beach. While the woman had a pulse, she remained unresponsive and was subsequently airlifted for advanced medical care. The teenage girl was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Details regarding their current conditions have not yet been released.
This recent incident bears a somber resemblance to a prior event. It happened less than a mile from where a 5-year-old girl was swept into the water in June. Tragically, her body was discovered days later on a beach north of the location where she initially disappeared.
