Relatives of victims in a fatal crash trial erupted in the courtroom Tuesday after graphic video evidence was presented. The footage displayed the fiery aftermath of a crash where nurse Nicole Linton allegedly drove at speeds up to 130 mph through a red light. The incident on August 4, 2022, resulted in the deaths of six people.
Among the deceased were Asherey Ryan, her unborn child, her infant son Alonzo, and her boyfriend Reynold Lester. Prosecutors stated a witness saw the unborn baby thrown from Ryan's body. The defense contends Linton, a traveling nurse from Houston, Texas, has a history of frontal lobe seizures, which could explain her actions.
However, prosecutors presented evidence suggesting Linton intentionally accelerated her vehicle for at least five seconds before the collision. Linton has pleaded not guilty to six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter. She remains in jail with no bail set.
