Trapped Voices Emerge from Kolkata Warehouse Collapse

Workers' desperate pleas for help were heard from the debris of a collapsed warehouse in Kolkata's Taratala on Wednesday. Nearly 400 rescue personnel, representing seven agencies including the Indian Army and NDRF, engaged in a challenging operation to reach those trapped. Rescuers cautiously worked through twisted steel and shattered concrete, punching holes to supply oxygen and water to survivors. Specialized tools like angle cutters and diamond chain saws were employed to dismantle sections of the structure. The operation continued into the night, with fears that more individuals might still be trapped. Drone surveillance and sniffer dogs were utilized to detect any signs of life within the extensive debris field.
