Two third-year medical students from ESI Medical College and Hospital, Joka, died in a severe road accident in Behala on Sunday. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 am when their motorbike, ridden by Anand Priyadarshi and carrying pillion rider Md Faiyaz Zaman Mallick, collided with another two-wheeler. Both students were thrown from their vehicle and subsequently run over by a speeding truck.
Investigators are meticulously reviewing CCTV footage and eyewitness statements to reconstruct the events. The truck involved in the fatal collision fled the scene.
