Summary
- Father and three daughters died when their mud house collapsed.
- Family delayed funeral rites pending financial assistance.
- Survivor to receive Rs 16 lakh from Natural Disaster Fund.

Tragedy struck Hirni village in Kanpur's Ghatampur area on Sunday when a mud house collapsed, killing a father and his three daughters. The family, left in profound grief, initially declined to perform the last rites until immediate financial aid was secured.
Tehsildar Om Prakash intervened, providing Rs 35,000, which allowed the funeral ceremonies to proceed on Monday. The father was cremated, while his daughters' bodies were immersed in the Yamuna River.
Further assistance is being processed for the surviving daughter, Kajal alias Laxmi, who sustained injuries. She is expected to receive Rs 16 lakh from the Natural Disaster Fund, which will be deposited into her account.
The village remains somber, with the house now eerily silent and the father's motorcycle still buried under the rubble, a stark reminder of the sudden loss.
