Woman Injured Battling Flames in Kanpur Home

A fire broke out in a Kanpur home on Wednesday evening, resulting in one injury and significant property damage. The incident occurred in the Kalyanpur area of the city around 5 PM, with preliminary reports indicating a short circuit near the electricity meter as the cause.
The flames rapidly spread, engulfing the entire house belonging to Amit Verma. His wife, Reena Verma, sustained burn injuries while attempting to put out the fire. Hearing her cries, neighbors alerted the police.
Two fire engines and police personnel responded to the scene. After nearly an hour of strenuous effort, they managed to bring the fire under control. The injured woman was initially taken to Barra CHC and later referred to Hallet Hospital for further treatment. She is currently in stable condition.
