A local journalist, Dhruv Narayan Pandey, suffered a serious neck injury on Friday when banned nylon manjha became entangled around him. The incident occurred near Pakri Ka Pul in Lucknow's Alambagh area as Pandey rode his motorcycle. He sustained a deep cut to his throat and was immediately taken to Civil Hospital.
This alarming event is the tenth involving the dangerous kite string in just ten days, bringing the issue to the forefront following a recent fatality. Another student was also injured near Hanneman Crossing on February 12th. Pandey's accident happened suddenly, leaving him no time to react and causing him to lose control of his vehicle.
Passers-by assisted Pandey, who received five stitches for his injury. Medical authorities confirm he is in stable condition. The recurrence of these incidents emphasizes the ongoing threat posed by the illegal kite string in the region.
