9 Oct
Summary
- An ASI died during a physical test for promotion in Jodhpur.
- The officer complained of severe chest pain after completing a run.
- This incident occurred a day after another officer died in an accident.
An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) tragically passed away on Friday at the Rajasthan Police Training Centre (RPTC) in Mandore, Jodhpur. The officer, Durga Ram Bheel, aged 50, was participating in a physical efficiency test for his promotion to sub-inspector.
Bheel, who was posted at Girab police station in Barmer district, had successfully completed the initial two-kilometer run. Shortly after, he experienced severe chest pain and his condition rapidly deteriorated. Despite being rushed to a nearby private hospital and receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), doctors were unable to save him.
He was declared dead at the hospital, with the suspected cause being a heart attack during the physical examination. This incident casts a shadow over the district's police force, occurring just one day after Circle Inspector Budharam Bishnoi died in a road accident on Wednesday night while returning to Udaipur.
