Tragedy struck Mathurapura village on Tuesday afternoon when a speeding car collided with a crowd gathered for a religious function near a temple. Nine individuals, including five children between the ages of two and twelve, sustained injuries in the incident, which occurred within the Babina police station area.
The injured were promptly taken to Jhansi Medical College to receive necessary medical attention. Preliminary reports suggest the driver of the car may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident. However, authorities stated that further actions will be determined based on the ongoing investigation.
Police have taken the driver, identified as 22-year-old Ankit Rajput, into custody and seized the vehicle involved. Law and order remain under control in the area following the incident.
