In a shocking incident in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, the body of Jagmohan Tiwari, a 56-year-old farmer, lay on the Jhansi-Kanpur highway, crushed by vehicles for nearly two days without being noticed. The remains were severely flattened and adhered to the road surface.
Family members reported Tiwari missing on Sunday, October 12, 2026, after he left for his agricultural field on October 9, 2026. Due to the lack of a mobile phone, his family could not contact him. His son, Ayush, identified the remains at the accident site through his father's slippers and clothes.
Police were alerted on Sunday night and had to scrape the bodily remains from the highway. SHO Vidya Sagar stated that road repair work might have contributed to the lack of awareness. The collected remains were sent for a post-mortem examination, and further action is pending.
