Tragic incidents claimed eight lives in Jhansi on Tuesday. Five members of a family, including a minor, drowned in the Sukhnei river while engaged in Shradh rituals. The victims were identified as Anoop Tiwari, his son Arpit, nephews Abhinayi, Shreyansh, and Pushkar Shukla. Reports suggest Anoop slipped into a deeper section, leading others to follow in a rescue attempt, resulting in their drowning.
In a separate tragedy, the bodies of three friends—Raj, Rahul alias Ritesh Parihar, and Neeraj—were found in the Sukwan-Dukwan dam. The friends had reportedly gone on an excursion on a motorbike. It is presumed they drowned while bathing in the dam. Authorities recovered personal belongings from the scene as investigations into both incidents continue.
