10 Jun
Summary
- Over 1 million Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators recalled for fire risk.
- Electrical issues in power steering pump wiring may cause overheating.
- Owners advised to park affected Jeeps outdoors away from structures.

Stellantis is initiating a significant recall affecting over 1 million Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator models due to a potential fire hazard. The manufacturer is advising owners of these approximately 1,076,999 vehicles to temporarily park them outdoors, away from structures and other vehicles, while a solution is developed.
The issue stems from a faulty electrical connection within the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring, which can lead to overheating and, in rare instances, vehicle fires. This recall covers model year 2021-2025 Wranglers and Gladiators manufactured in the United States.
Owners will need to have the wiring harnesses and electric hydraulic power steering pumps inspected, with potential repairs or replacements necessary. Stellantis discovered this defect through an internal investigation. A fix is anticipated by July.
This recall follows several other safety advisories for Stellantis' SUV brand. Recently, approximately 419,035 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L models were recalled for a software error affecting airbag deployment. Earlier, issues with battery fires led to recalls for plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe models, and sand in the engine posed a fire or power loss risk for other plug-in Jeep models.
