EV Fire Kills Family of 7 in Indore
18 Mar
Summary
- Seven family members died in a three-story building fire.
- An electric vehicle explosion may have started the blaze.
- Electronic locks trapped residents during the critical incident.

A tragic fire engulfed a residential building in Indore early Wednesday, resulting in the deaths of seven family members and critically injuring three others. The devastating blaze at Brijeshwari Annex near Bengali Square is believed to have originated from an explosion at an electric vehicle's charging point around 4 a.m.
Compounding the tragedy, electronic locking systems within the three-storey structure may have prevented occupants from escaping the rapidly spreading flames. Reports indicate that a power failure during the incident could have caused these locks to remain engaged, trapping residents. The fire also involved the explosion of approximately 10 stored LPG cylinders, escalating the danger significantly.
