Indonesian authorities have launched an intensive search for a missing fisheries surveillance aircraft carrying 10 individuals. The plane, operated by Indonesia Air Transport, lost contact with air traffic control on Saturday afternoon around the Maros region in South Sulawesi province.
Three government employees from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries were on board the ATR 42-500 aircraft, along with at least seven crew members. Unconfirmed flight data indicates a sudden loss of altitude before it disappeared from tracking systems.
