People familiar with the matter indicated that the issue involved a failure in one of the aircraft's engines. The flight had declared an emergency around 9:25 am and landed back safely at 9:50 am.
The involved Airbus A321Neo, registered VT-ILZ, is approximately 4.5 years old. IndiGo stated that pilots followed standard operating procedures in returning the aircraft to Goa.
