An IndiGo Airlines flight traveling from Delhi to Bagdogra experienced an emergency diversion on Sunday morning due to a bomb threat, landing safely at Lucknow Airport. The incident occurred after a handwritten note, discovered on tissue paper in the aircraft's lavatory, indicated the presence of a bomb onboard.
The Air Traffic Control received notification of the threat around 08:46 am. The aircraft, identified as IndiGo flight 6E-6650, diverted and touched down safely in Lucknow at 09:17 am. All 238 individuals aboard, comprising 222 adult passengers, eight infants, and seven crew members, were unharmed.
Upon arrival in Lucknow, the plane was directed to an isolation bay where security agencies, including the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and CISF, conducted an exhaustive search to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew.
