On October 13th, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Jaisalmer, India, when a military jeep carrying Indian Army personnel overturned, resulting in the death of a major and injuries to four others.
The group was returning from a military exercise near the Indo-Pak border area of Longewala when the accident took place on a stretch of the Gamnewala-Ramgarh road under the Tanot police station area. The deceased has been identified as Major TC Bharadwaj, a 32-year-old resident of Andhra Pradesh.
The injured include Lieutenant Colonel Prasant Ray (33), Major Priyanshi Shukla (29), Major Amit (31), and the jeep's driver, Jawan Nasruddin. The lieutenant colonel and the female major were airlifted to Jodhpur Military Hospital due to the severity of their injuries, while the other two are currently being treated at the Jaisalmer Military Hospital. Their conditions are now reportedly stable.
The Army and local police are investigating the cause of the accident. Villagers from Gamnewala were the first to reach the site and transported the military personnel to the Ramgarh Hospital, where doctors pronounced Major Bharadwaj dead. An autopsy was conducted, and his body was handed over to the Army.
