India, Nepal Floods: 19 Dead, 10 Missing in Storm Chaos

Devastating floods and landslides, triggered by heavy rains and storms, have struck large parts of India and Nepal. In India's Uttar Pradesh state, the past 48 hours saw 15 deaths, five injuries, and damage to 117 houses, with the region recording 19 times its normal rainfall.
Nepal has also been severely impacted. Four people, including children and a woman, perished when a landslide buried their home in Nishi Khola village. In the northern Manang district, 10 Nepali workers are missing after an avalanche struck their base camp near Himlung Himal.
Authorities in Nepal have warned of potential flash floods in 49 of the country's 77 districts. The Rahuganga River's flooding damaged a 40-megawatt hydropower project, prompting the mobilization of a technical team for assessment and restoration. Telecommunications have also been disrupted in parts of Nepal due to damage to infrastructure.
