India Factory Blast: 25 Feared Dead in Firecracker Inferno

A catastrophic explosion at a fireworks factory has resulted in the deaths of at least 25 individuals, with the majority of the identified victims being women. The blast, which occurred while approximately 25 people were working, severely damaged multiple rooms and reduced parts of the structure to rubble. Rescue efforts were significantly delayed due to continuous explosions of firecrackers within the premises.

Authorities have filed a complaint against the factory owner and foreman, who are currently absconding. Four special police teams have been established to track and arrest them. The cause of the blast remains unknown, and an investigation is ongoing, focusing on potential safety violations. District officials noted that the factory operating on a Sunday was a primary violation, though it held a valid license.

The tragedy has prompted responses from political leaders, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing deep distress and offering condolences.
