Ibiza Submerged: Luxury Cars Swallowed by Floodwaters as Storm Alice Wreaks Havoc

On October 12th, 2025, the Balearic island of Ibiza has been plunged into further chaos as a result of a fresh wave of flooding from Storm Alice. Dramatic footage shows the island's streets have been engulfed by water, with luxury supercars and motorbikes almost entirely submerged in the muddy deluge.

The storm has hit Ibiza after ravaging much of southeastern Spain this week, including the Costa Blanca region, which was placed on high alert due to the "extraordinary danger" posed by the intense downpours. The devastating effects of Storm Alice have forced the closure of popular venues like Wayne Lineker's O Beach club, where parasols were seen being whipped up by the powerful winds.

Ibiza Airport was also temporarily paralyzed for over 90 minutes, with internal areas closed off to travelers due to power cuts caused by water pouring into the terminal. Twelve incoming and 12 departing flights were canceled, disrupting travel plans for British holidaymakers. The main road to the airport was also rendered unusable, mirroring a similar incident just two weeks prior.

In response, the Spanish military's specialist UME Armed Forces unit has been dispatched to Ibiza to assist with the rescue and clean-up operation. Ibiza Town's mayor has urged residents to stay indoors and exercise caution if they must travel, as several key roads and access points remain flooded. The scale of the damage has been described as "devastating" by local residents, with the storm's impact felt across the island, including in the popular resort of Playa d'en Bossa and the towns of San Jose and Santa Eularia.
