Big Rig Spill Shuts Down I-5 in Castaic

The 5 Freeway in Castaic experienced a significant closure on Thursday afternoon due to an overturned big rig. The accident completely blocked all southbound lanes and also necessitated the closure of northbound lanes.
Aerial footage revealed that a pickup truck towing a trailer had also pulled over, with a wooden container of glass having fallen from it. Los Angeles County Fire personnel were dispatched to the scene around 10:52 a.m.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. While the exact cause of the big rig toppling is not yet known, the area was under a high wind warning with gusts expected to reach up to 65 mph. A tow truck was present to manage the cleanup.
