- A software update resolves a defect linked to a child's death.
- 68,500 Palisade SUVs were recalled following the tragic incident.

Hyundai Motor has announced the lifting of its sales halt on recalled 2026 Palisade SUVs. This decision follows the finalization of a software update designed to fix a power seat issue. This defect had been tragically associated with the death of a two-year-old girl in Ohio, prompting the initial recall.
The Korean automaker has developed a software update for both the 2026 Palisade and Palisade Hybrid models. The fix specifically addresses power seats in the second and third rows for Limited and Calligraphy trims. Sales were suspended in mid-March, affecting approximately 68,500 Palisade SUVs. Dealerships can now resume selling these vehicles after completing the necessary software installation.
