Hyderabad Fire Claims Second Life: Owner Dies of Burns

Tragedy struck Shahalibanda as the death toll from a recent fire incident climbed to two. Shiva Kumar Bansal, the 49-year-old owner of Gomathi Enterprises, succumbed to his extensive burn injuries while undergoing treatment. He had sustained 80% burns in the fire that engulfed his two-storey commercial-residential building.

The fire, which broke out late Monday evening as the shop was closing, also injured eight other individuals. Two of Bansal’s employees suffered moderate burns and are currently receiving treatment, with doctors reporting them to be out of danger. Several others sustained minor injuries and were treated on-site. The incident caused an estimated loss of at least ₹10 lakh in electronic goods.

Authorities are actively investigating the precise cause of the fire. While an initial theory suggested a CNG car collision, evidence now points towards a possible explosion originating from a refrigerator or air-conditioning unit due to pressure build-up. Moghalpura police have registered a case and are continuing their detailed investigation.
