22 Jul
Summary
- Three people were hospitalized after a crash.
- An Horry County Police officer was involved in the collision.
- This is the second incident involving an officer this month.
Three individuals were hospitalized on Thursday evening following a multi-vehicle accident in the Socastee area. The crash, which occurred just before 9 p.m., involved three vehicles, including one from the Horry County Police Department. It has not been confirmed whether the police officer was among the injured parties.
This incident is the second such event this month involving an Horry County Police officer. On July 9, an officer was among four people taken to the hospital after a separate three-vehicle crash in the Carolina Forest area. At that time, the officer had stopped to remove debris from the roadway with emergency lights activated and sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently leading the investigations into both of these recent collisions.
