Zoo Fire Contained: Animals Safe, Offices Damaged

A fire broke out at Hoo Zoo, located near Telford, on Monday morning. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and successfully contained the blaze, which was isolated to an office area.

Zoo officials reported that no animals were harmed during the incident. The fire's location, adjacent to the main entrance, shop, and cafe, meant that a slightly later discovery could have resulted in more significant damage to those areas.

The primary damage reported was to office equipment and documents, which are replaceable. The zoo will contact visitors with tickets for Monday to re-arrange their visits.
