The accident happened below Haywood car park, prompting a swift response from the Edale Mountain Rescue Team. Rescuers were dispatched to the scene shortly after midday.
The injured individual was part of a group of friends walking in the area. They reportedly slipped from a height, resulting in a fall onto the unforgiving rocky surface. Emergency medical personnel attended to the hiker, treating multiple injuries at the location.
Following initial treatment, the casualty was airlifted from the scene. An air ambulance transported the individual to the trauma unit at Sheffield General Hospital. The Edale Mountain Rescue Team has wished the hiker a complete recovery.
