Helicopter Plunges into Lake, Pilots Miraculously Survive

On October 28, 2025, a terrifying helicopter crash unfolded in São Roque, Brazil, as the aircraft spiraled out of control and plunged into a nearby lake. The incident occurred around 12:35 PM, just 300 meters short of the pilots' intended destination, a local restaurant.
Eyewitness Eduardo Alexandre Souza, who lives by the lake, recounts seeing the helicopter losing altitude and spinning in the air before crashing into the water. Souza immediately ran to the lake and jumped in to assist the victims.
Within seconds, locals and fishermen were in the water, wading and swimming towards the wreckage to pull the two trapped pilots to safety. Miraculously, both men survived the crash, with one suffering only a minor cut to his hand.
The pilots, businessmen from the nearby city of Jundiaí, had taken off from the city's airport around 12:05 PM, bound for lunch at the Vila Don Patto restaurant. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the accident, with experts from Brazil's Cenipa (Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center) and the Criminalistics Institute on the scene.
This incident comes just a month after another tragic air crash in Brazil's Pantanal wetlands, which claimed the lives of four people, including a renowned architect and two acclaimed filmmakers.
