5 Jun
Summary
- Groom fell 20ft from a rusty wall during his stag do.
- He suffered a traumatic brain injury, broken bones, and was comatose.
- Travel insurance covered medical expenses; GoFundMe aids wedding bills.

A planned stag celebration in Lanzarote took a disastrous turn for Dan Bevis, 25, when he suffered a severe fall shortly after arriving on May 1. While visiting the first bar, Bevis fell approximately 20ft from a "really rusty" wall, sustaining critical injuries.
He was placed in a medically induced coma due to a brain bleed, a fracture behind his ear, a broken collarbone, and a fractured sternum. His fiancée, Kirsty Elvins, 27, traveled to be with him, accompanied by their one-year-old son.
Fortunately, Bevis's medical expenses were covered by his travel insurance. He was able to return home on May 19 and is now recovering, though he will require a wheelchair for mobility due to dizziness.
With their wedding scheduled for July, the family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to help manage bills during Bevis's recovery period, as he will be unable to work for at least four to six weeks.
