A grandfather, James Alexander Smith, 50, and his three-month-old granddaughter were tragically killed in a brutal pit bull attack within their Tullahoma, Tennessee residence. Seven dogs reportedly mauled the victims on Wednesday afternoon, with authorities responding to a gruesome scene.
Some of the attacking dogs were killed to free the infant, while the others were taken by animal control. Investigators are examining the dogs' history and the home's conditions. A neighbor described hearing a woman's distress before sirens arrived.
