The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall for the Goal Zero Yeti 3000X portable power station. This recall is due to concerns that the unit's circuit board can overheat, posing a fire risk. Approximately 46,000 units sold nationwide from May 2020 through August 2025 are affected.
The power station, a 92-pound device retailing for $3,000, is designed to provide portable power for various applications. Goal Zero has received four reports detailing incidents of overheating, smoke, and fire, though thankfully no injuries have been reported.
The recall is being addressed through a firmware update. Consumers can download the update via the Goal Zero app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The company advises users to update the firmware even if their unit appears to be functioning normally. For those unable to complete the update, Goal Zero offers further support.
