Summary
- A significant fire on Union Street has closed Glasgow Central station.
- All train services to and from the station are affected.
- Over 60 firefighters battled the blaze with no reported casualties.

A large building fire on Union Street in Glasgow forced the closure of Glasgow Central railway station on Sunday evening, significantly impacting train services. The blaze erupted in a four-storey commercial building, prompting a large response from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
More than 60 firefighters were deployed to combat the flames, with 12 fire appliances and three high-reach vehicles mobilized at the incident's peak. The fire, which started on the ground floor, engulfed the building. Despite the intensity, no casualties were reported among the public or emergency personnel.
All train operations to and from Glasgow Central were suspended. High-level platforms were completely closed, and services using low-level platforms bypassed the station entirely. This led to numerous cancellations and ongoing disruption for passengers across various routes. Some ticket acceptance arrangements were put in place to assist affected travelers.
