A significant fire incident occurred at an industrial estate in Ghatkopar West on Tuesday morning, resulting in injuries to three individuals. The fire was reported at 10:22 am and escalated to a level-one blaze, requiring nearly three hours for firefighters to bring under control by the afternoon.
The fire originated on the second floor of a two-story building, engulfing an area of approximately 1,000 square feet. The flames were confined to electrical installations and items stored within shop number 209, including furniture, sewing machines, garments, and office files.
Three people sustained burn injuries and were taken to Rajawadi Hospital. One person suffered extensive 60% burns, while the other two had 3% and 30% burns, respectively. All three individuals later decided to leave the hospital against medical advice. The operation involved multiple agencies, including the Mumbai Fire Brigade and Mumbai Police.
