Gamers at the annual Gen Con convention in Indianapolis encountered a significant disruption on August 1st when a large ceiling leak occurred. Water began pouring into Hall B, a popular area for game testing, during an ongoing tornado warning for the city. Attendees were playing various tabletop games when the deluge started, prompting staff to deploy equipment to catch the water.

Convention organizers temporarily evacuated attendees from some areas, including Lucas Oil Stadium, directing them to the tunnels connecting to the convention center. While the full extent of damage to the hall and games remained unclear, one vendor expressed confidence that the convention would continue as scheduled on August 2nd. This incident occurred as flood warnings were in effect across central Indiana, with more storms anticipated throughout the week.
