Ganga River Breaches Warning Mark, Flooding Unnao

This surge, attributed to rainfall in the hills, has caused the river to inundate low-lying areas in Shuklaganj, Unnao, sparking alarm among the populace. The district administration has mobilized into a state of high alert, implementing continuous monitoring of the situation and establishing necessary shelter sites.

In response to the escalating water levels, authorities have opened 30 gates of the Ganga Barrage. Public access to the Parmat temple ghat has been restricted, with barricades erected and additional police and water police forces deployed. Warning banners have been placed to advise people against entering deep waters and to maintain a safe distance from the river. Boat operations have been suspended in the Ganga Barrage area, although they continue to operate from other ghats for local village movement as per regulations.
