A stunt performed during a Ganesh immersion procession in Jhalawar, Rajasthan, resulted in injuries to four individuals on Friday afternoon. The incident, which occurred around 3:30 pm near the Mangalpura intersection, involved a tableau featuring a performer and a hazardous act.
Officials reported that the stunt incorporated a petrol bottle and fire. Flames unexpectedly intensified among the performers and onlookers, leading to burns for at least four people. Eyewitnesses described flames from a petrol bottle spreading and igniting individuals nearby during a traditional akhada performance.
The injured were identified as Raguveer, Nitin Singh, and Vineet Porwal, all local residents, and Chandan Sardar, a performer from Punjab. They were promptly taken to Jhalawar Hospital. While three were discharged after initial treatment, Chandan Sardar is still undergoing care at SRG Hospital for burns on his arm. The event caused temporary disruption but was managed, allowing the Ganesh immersion procession to resume.
