Tragedy struck in Indore on Wednesday evening when a partial collapse of a dilapidated building, coupled with the fall of an adjacent wall, resulted in the deaths of four women. The incident occurred near Tashan Chauraha around 4 pm, initiating a swift rescue operation involving police and Nagar Parishad teams.
All four deceased, identified as Reena Bai, Seema Bai, Chanda Bai, and Sushila Bai, were working as labourers at the demolition site. Five other individuals, including Manju Bai Solanki, Sundar Bai, Sunil Singh, and Dilip Singh, were injured and received medical attention, with some transferred for advanced treatment.
Eyewitnesses reported that the collapse happened while the building was being demolished. Locals mentioned that a section of the house had previously fallen about a month prior, leading to a notice being served to the owner. However, the demolition work was ongoing when the adjoining wall gave way, leading to the fatal incident.
