Ford Recalls Over 600K Cars for Wiper Failure
5 Mar
Summary
- Over 600,000 Ford vehicles recalled due to faulty windshield wipers.
- Recall includes specific models like Explorer and Escape from 2020-2022.
- A separate recall addresses potential driveshaft separation in some vehicles.

Ford has initiated a significant recall affecting over 600,000 vehicles in the United States. The primary reason for this recall is a potential failure of the windshield wiper motor. This issue could lead to reduced visibility for drivers, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
The recall specifically targets certain 2020 through 2022 models, including the Ford Explorer, Ford Escape, Lincoln Aviator, and Lincoln Corsair. Owners of these vehicles will be able to have their front wiper motors inspected and replaced by dealers at no cost.
In a separate action, Ford is also recalling an additional 11,431 vehicles in the U.S. This second recall is due to concerns that the driveshaft's friction weld may fail. Such a failure could result in the rear driveshaft separating from the vehicle, causing a sudden loss of drive power.
